The above in quotations is a common theme in my writing, spilled over from a life that mirrors much of the same. Like many writers, I’m a quiet observer of the world. I take what my senses experience and churn it inside of me until it oozes out in the form of words onto paper. I write for both kids and adults (nothing below middle grade, although I’ve tossed around idea for children’s books). See a full list of my published works on Amazon.
I write to entertain and to make you feel something worthwhile. I write to show you who I am. And I write to help you understand who you are.
If you’ve read any of my work, thank you, reader, for letting me into your world. Find out more about why I write here–it’s one of the most important, personal reasons of all.
I’ve battled depression and anxiety, I’m prone to random outbursts of hyper weirdness, I’d rather be too cold with a cup of tea than too hot with a glass of lemonade, and I love my mama’s spaghetti. I carry around four notebooks with me everywhere I go. My favorite authors include C.S. Lewis, J.K. Rowling, J.R.R. Tolkein, Suzanne Collins, Richard Peck, Robert Jordan, Brandon Sanderson, Holly Black, and Neil Gaiman. I’m a follower of Jesus, a lucky and blessed wife, and a mother to a fur-baby beagle named Emmie Lou. Aaaaand it just so happens that our four-legged loved one is part of the inspiration behind one of my books, “The Christmas Beagle“—and she’s featured on the cover, as well as in the book trailer, seen here.
Beagles appear in some of my yet-to-be-published writing as well, though in my upcoming novels, you may see me venture outside of the breed, or even outside of the species to something more…feline. I love animals of all kinds, and as do many of my readers, more and more of my work will feature a wider variety. …But it’s only natural that this special girl’s breed would have a reoccurring role in my work:
